ETS2 1.57 Update Overview
A practical overview of ETS2 1.57, covering the Scandinavia refresh, HDR support, dynamic loading, Scania updates, Special Transport cargo, Krone trailers, and trailer suspension.

ETS2 1.57 was released on November 20, 2025. It is not the newest version now, but it still matters because it refreshed a major older DLC region, added visual and cargo-system improvements, and updated several vehicle and trailer areas that many players still use.
This article turns older release posts into an evergreen catch-up guide for returning players.

Scandinavia Refresh
The Scandinavia DLC refresh is the most visible part of 1.57. SCS updated road assets, vegetation, textures, rest stops, fuel stations, and parts of the road network so the older region fits better beside newer northern content.
Notable map changes include a rebuilt Copenhagen, new cities such as Aarhus and Karlstad, and more custom-designed junction work around Danish motorways and Swedish E-road corridors.
Cargo and Vehicle Updates
Dynamic loading and unloading debuted in ETS2 for selected logger-trailer jobs. Instead of cargo simply appearing, players can see material handlers or excavators load and unload Logs, Large Tubes, or Iron Pipes at supported depots.
The Scania R and S update is the major truck highlight. It adds SUPER engines, V8 powertrains up to 770 hp, newer Opticruise transmissions, Smart Dash interiors, and extra exterior options.
Special Transport owners also gained two demanding cargoes:
- Wind Turbine Blade.
- Underground Loader.
Both are designed for players who enjoy route discipline, escorts, and careful cornering more than routine freight.
Visual, Trailer, and Profile Changes
HDR support is useful if you have an HDR-capable monitor or TV. The update also added calibration controls so brightness and contrast can be tuned more carefully.
The Krone Trailer Pack expanded with city-oriented trailer variants, steerable axles, longer chassis/body options, and an HCT configuration. Player company logos and paint jobs were refreshed, with more color flexibility through RGB choices.
Adjustable trailer suspension is a small but practical addition for coupling, deliveries, and tight depot work.
Returning Player Checklist
If your last serious ETS2 session was around 1.57:
- Back up your profiles before launching a newer version.
- Update or disable map mods first, especially anything touching Scandinavia.
- Check Scania, Krone, trailer, sound, traffic, and UI mods next.
- Revisit HDR and brightness settings if your display supports them.
- Read the later 1.58 and 1.59 notes for the larger current changes.
Who Should Read This
This overview is mainly for players returning after a long break, creators updating old tutorials, and mod users trying to understand why older advice no longer matches the current game.
If you are new today, skip straight to the current beginner roadmap and the 1.59 overview. You do not need to study every old version in order.
