Quick answer
World of Trucks External Contracts are online jobs linked to your World of Trucks account. They are separate from normal Freight Market jobs and can use different timing rules. As of July 1, 2026, SCS has paused World of Trucks events, but World of Trucks itself and external contract features should be checked on the official site.
World of Trucks is SCS Software's online service for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. In ETS2, many players first notice it through External Contracts and community event pages.

What External Contracts Are
External Contracts are online jobs connected to your World of Trucks account. They can feel similar to normal deliveries, but they belong to the online service layer.
Use the official site for current account and event context: World of Trucks.
External Contracts vs Freight Market
| Feature | Freight Market | External Contracts |
|---|---|---|
| Online account | Not required | Required |
| Job source | In-game economy | World of Trucks service |
| Events | Not event-based by itself | Often connected to WoT goals |
| Best for | Normal career growth | Community goals and online tracking |
If you only want offline career progress, Freight Market is simpler.
Event Pause Context
SCS announced a temporary pause for World of Trucks events in March 2026 while they work on underlying systems. That does not mean every World of Trucks feature is permanently gone. It means event availability should be checked against official sources before planning a guide, reward, or route around it.

If Contracts Do Not Show
Check:
- Your World of Trucks login.
- Internet connection.
- ETS2 version.
- Whether your profile is linked.
- Whether the event or contract type is currently active.
- Whether mods are changing economy or maps.
Do not assume the feature is broken before checking the official site.
When To Use External Contracts
Use them when:
- You enjoy online tracking.
- You want community goals.
- You like official event rewards when events are active.
- You are comfortable with online constraints.
For pure money and career progress, normal jobs are easier to control.
